Anigozanthos 'Bush Glow'
This cultivar has flower scapes that reach 0.7m tall. The
individual flowers are a greenish-yellow. The flowers are covered with deep
red coloured hairs that give an orange appearance to the flowers.
Diagnosis:
A. humilis:
Small clumps 100mm wide by 100-500mm tall (flower scape).
Leaves 10mm wide by 200mm long; margins hairy, leaf surface hairy to
glabrous. Flower stems to 500mm; covered in wooly hairs; stems sometimes
branched. Flowers are tubular to 50mm long; covered in short hairs;
perianth lobes turned back; cream, yellow, orange pink or red in colour.
A. 'Bush Glow':
Leaves to 7mm wide by 400mm long; glabrous. Flower stems to
700mm tall, branched. Flowers tubular, 35-40mm long, perianth lobes
partially recurved, perianth greenish-yellow and densely covered with deep
red hairs, becoming short and sparse on the lower stem and red to red-black
in colour.
A. flavidus:
Clumps to 1m across and up to 2m tall. Leaves are 20-40mm wide
by up to 1m long; glabrous. Flower stem up to 2m; glabrous where branching
starts; flowers tubular, 30-40mm long, perianth lobes not curved back, red,
orange, pink,yellow or green in colour.
Anigozanthos 'Rambofury'
Medium compact selection 1.2m(h) x 1.5m(w) with red flowers. Comparitors: A. 'Big Red' and A. 'Bush Sunset'. Diagnosis: A. ‘Big Red’ has bright all red flowers and similar breeding to Rambofury where as A. Bush Fury has yellow hairs on the buds.
A. ‘Bush Sunset’ has similar breeding, bright red flowers and similar height to Rambofury. but has darker red flowers red 53A
Callistemon 'Pink Sensation'
An open small tree to 3m high by 1.5m across in 4 years. The
bark is soft, grey and fissured, splitting to reveal papery bark beneath.
The leaves are narrowly elliptical to 60mm long by 5mm wide. The new growth
is light yellow green. The deep pink flowers are borne in very crowded
spikes to 80mm long by 45mm diameter. The anthers are yellow. Flowers are
seen in spring, summer and autumn and the spring flowers tend to be longer
than those borne at other times.
Diagnosis:
Differs from C. 'Glasshouse Gem' in having:
* light yellow green new growth
* more crowded flower spikes
* darker pink flowers
Differs from C. 'Glasshouse Country' and C. 'Glasshouse Beauty' in having:
* larger flowers
* darker pink flowers
Callistemon salignus 'Perth Pink'
A tall open shrub to 4m tall. Leaves are lanceolate to 80mm
long. The deep pink flowers are borne in clusters at the ends of the
branches in spring and it may flower sporadically at other times of the
year.
Diagnosis:
Callistemon 'Perth Pink' is much bushier than C. salignus.
Callistemon 'Hannah's Child'
Shrub 1.5 x 4m high. Produces scarlet flowers (9 to 12cm x 6
to 8 cm) from March to may and again in October/November. Young specimens
are similar to Callistemon 'Hannah Ray', mature specimens are more like
Callistemon 'Kings Park Special'. Its main distinguishing feature is its
ability to flower at a much earlier age than either parent, and is very
floriferous. New growth is pale yellow/green and covered with silky hairs.
Mature leaves become glaucous.
Diagnosis:
Differs from both parents in its ability to flower when very
young (less than 12 months, 140mm pots). Denser flowers than 'Hannah Ray'.
Only 2/3 rds height of 'Hannah Ray'.
