7.4 PLANT AND EQUIPMENT
Background
A wide range of plant and equipment, including vehicles and
machinery, computer systems and research laboratory equipment, has
been purchased for the maintenance and management of the Gardens. An
active program of maintenance and replacement of obsolete equipment
is needed to ensure the Gardens continue to function efficiently.
Management prescriptions
Objective
The objective is to ensure that efficient plant and equipment are
available for the management and maintenance of the Gardens and the
safety of visitors and staff.
Implementation
An active program of maintenance, purchase and replacement of plant
and equipment appropriate to the safe, efficient and effective
management and maintenance of the Gardens will be developed and
implemented. It will be based on asset life cycle costing
techniques.
