Synonymy and types

Basionym:  Acacia scandens Willd., Enum. pl.  1057.  1809, nom. illeg., non Willdenow (1806).  - TYPE:  BRAZIL.  Comes de Hoffmannsegg (holotype:  B-Willd.).  NOTE:  The species described as A. scandens by Willdenow (1806) is referable to the genus Entada (Steudel 1841).
