Little is known of this plant collector.
We are seeking more information.
There are over 1,300 collections made by "Henderson, D.L.W." between 1945 and 1970 in AVH and indications are that this is David Leonard Wylie Henderson.
A registered Surveyor by that name is mentioned in the NSW GOVERNMENT GAZETTE records of 1937 and 1940 with the date of obtaining registration as 7 May 1935.
His 1940 address as "Box 514 Post Office, Griffith", NSW, would support him as being the collector, based on the map.
There are Ancestry records that David Leonard Wylie Henderson married recently divorced Vera Louisa Riddell (née Falkenhagen) in 1937.
When Vera's brother Noel Falkenhagen (a grazier from Bourke) died in May 1951, Vera was named as the Executrix handling his estate. At that time her address is given as "Rose Isle Bourke". Perhapd David Henderson was also living there it would help to explain the plant collections in northern NSW.
Despite extensive web searches no birth or death or cemetary records have been found for either.
