Made a collection of about 8000 specimens from Broken Hill and western New South Wales, which was donated to the Waite Institute in South Australia. This herbarium was transferred to AD in 1985. A few specimens are also in A, K, NSW, NY and WELC.
Details of his life and work are described in The Greening of the Hill - Re-vegetation of Broken Hill in the 1930s by Horace Webber (1992) published by Hyland House.
